The Ripples

I've been trying to find ways to cope, and I think that I've found a good one for self-regulation. Every time I start to get upset, I just think about water rippling, and if I want it to stop, I need to let it go. I'm not sure where I read or saw this technique from, but I think I've been using it a lot as finals approach and the school year comes to an end. It's been very calming since I have a tendency to replay situations and worry a lot. It's allowed me to sit still with my emotions, validate them, and then let them go. I don't think I imagine of any body of water specifically, more so of a glass of water, but here's a picture of a pond in the Boston Commons that I took this past week!
